The Nevada Department of Education is restructuring high school CTE Programs of Study to increase access and opportunity for all students. Most CTE Programs of Study will transition from a 3-year to a 2- year program. There may be changes to assessments that may impact articulation agreements and a student’s eligibility to earn free CTE College Credit.

Self Identification

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) is subject to certain nondiscrimination and reporting requirements, which dictate that institutions invite students to voluntarily self-identify their gender. These questions comply with the U.S. Department of Education’s standards for data collection.

Grade Policy

Under NSHE policy, students are automatically assigned a Satisfactory S grade for high school CTE credit, but students may request a letter grade to facilitate the transfer of credit by checking the box below. Please note that at CSN a Satisfactory S grade indicates that a student earned a C- or above in the completion of course objectives. The S grade is not computed in CSN’s grade point average. Please consult with your college academic advisor to determine how an S grade may impact your academic plans. CSN Catalog – Grades and Academic Progress

Please check the box below and CSN will record a letter grade based on your grade point average in your high school CTE program classes. In accordance with the CTE College Credit eligibility requirements, the minimum grade point average required is a 3.0/ B. This means eligible students would be earning either a B, B+, A-, or an A grade depending on your academic records in the CTE program(s).

By checking this box, I acknowledge that CSN will record a letter grade for my CTE credit based on my high school transcript in my CSN permanent academic record and will not record a Satisfactory S grade.
